About Me
My name is Steven Aunan, and I've been behind a camera in a variety of roles for 43 years: from yearbook shutterbug to newspaper correspondent to corporate communicator and webmaster. Now I'm retired and can take the art more seriously. When I started taking photographs as a teenager, my "medium" included a cheap Petri 35mm camera, Ilford film, and a pitch-black room. Now it's all Canon digital, but I'll never forget the smell of a darkroom.
About the Project
Today I'm a freelance journalist, and this is my personal project. Sacramento has launched construction of the Del Rio Trail along five miles of the abandoned Southern Sacramento Railroad line that used to go to Walnut Grove. I'm documenting its progress.
